International science programmes

1. Horizon 2020 is a new EU Research and Innovation programme. It is the financial instrument of implementing Europe 2020 Flagship Initiative Innovation Union aimed at securing competitiveness and economic growth of Europe, and creating new jobs.

Horizon 2020 consists of three main priorities:

  • Excellent science: this priority aims at funding high-quality individual and collaborative research projects in all fields of knowledge, including humanities;
  • Industrial leadership: under this priority the development of the new technologies and innovations and their implementation in small and medium-sized enterprises is funded;
  • Society challenges: this priority addresses the research projects which cover a wide range of topics from improving the quality of food, transport and healthcare systems to European identity and cultural heritage.

Minimum conditions for participation in Horizon 2020 are as follows: significant research topic, at least 2 partner entities established in European counties (the European Union member states or associated countries) and a project proposal of 10-15 pages in English. To submit the project proposal, each organisation needs to be registered on Participant Portal and get a 9-digit Participant Identification Code (PIC).

2. International European Innovation and Research Programme «EUREKA» is the programme the projects of which aim at putting into practice the outcomes of science and engineering researches and achievements.

4. CRDF Global Programmes fund the projects directed at solving significant science and engineering issues/problems of Ukraine and the USA.

5. Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) is a programme of international cooperation with the aim of implementing joint science and research projects.

6. The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Programmes. The main tasks are promoting the development of education and science researches; international cooperation between science and research entities and leading industrial enterprises.
